Ceramic membranes, also known as inorganic membranes, are asymmetric membranes formed by using special processes to prepare powders such as aluminum oxide (Al2O3), zirconium oxide (ZrO2) and titanium oxide (TiO2) as raw materials.
Ceramic membrane has good chemical stability, acid and alkali resistance, high mechanical strength, high temperature resistance, high separation rate and other excellent characteristics, and has been widely used in food industry, environmental engineering, biological engineering, petrochemical, metallurgy and other fields. Compared with other membrane products, the price of ceramic membrane is relatively high, but ceramic membrane is welcomed by downstream users with good product performance, and it has strong competitiveness, which is manifested in two aspects. On the one hand, the ceramic membrane has a long service life, mainly because of the high mechanical strength of the product and the characteristics of high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance to avoid the high frequency replacement of membrane components; on the other hand, the membrane flux of ceramic membrane is nearly five times higher than that of ordinary organic membrane, with high treatment efficiency.
Thanks to the excellent product performance of ceramic membrane, the application scope of the product is rapidly expanding. According to the Feasibility Study Report on Market Analysis of China's Ceramic Membrane Products from 2019 to 2023, the market scale of China's ceramic membrane grew rapidly from 2012 to 2017, with an average annual compound growth rate of more than 16%, and the market scale of the industry reached 0.25 billion billion yuan in 2017.
The development and application of ceramic membranes in the international market was earlier. In the 1980 s, commercial ceramic membrane manufacturing companies appeared in the United States, Japan, France and Germany. China's ceramic membrane started relatively late, in the early stage of development can not compete with foreign products, but after years of development, domestic ceramic membrane enterprises by virtue of price competitiveness, product applicability and the whole process of service and other advantages began to gradually realize import substitution.
The future development direction can provide the overall solution of membrane integration technology including technology research and development, process design, equipment manufacturing, engineering construction, operation, etc.
