Jinhai Lithium Industry (Qinghai) Co., Ltd. recently held a trial production ceremony, marking the completion of the salt lake lithium extraction EPC project using Jiuwu High-tech adsorption film method and the start of commissioning and trial production.

In recent years, the trend of electrification has swept the world, and the supply and demand of upstream lithium resources have also become tense. Lithium mine has become the most valuable strategic resource. Lake lithium has become a key link to reduce the dependence of China's lithium resources on overseas resources and realize the independent control of the whole industry chain. Industry insiders said that to vigorously develop China's lithium resources, "salt lake lithium" technology is very critical.

According to the analysis of relevant institutions, the global output of lithium resources will increase to 1.17 million tons of LCE in 2025, of which the supply of lithium from salt lakes will reach 530000 tons of LCE, accounting for 45% of the total production capacity.

In terms of technology, China has gradually formed a pattern of adsorption, precipitation, extraction, electrodialysis, nanofiltration, electrochemistry and other processes. Among them, the nanofiltration membrane process magnesium lithium separation effect is good, lithium recovery rate is high, membrane separation technology has grown into China's current adaptability of salt lake lithium extraction technology routes.

However, it is worth noting that the limitation of the membrane process is mainly the membrane long-term dependence on imports, the existence of membrane life is short, high maintenance costs, energy consumption and other defects, China's nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membrane production technology has been relatively mature, is expected to promote the development of membrane salt lake lithium technology.
